Date in History
Marie and Chris Foot chose a very special date to tie the knot at Gaynes Park Barns in Epping, Essex
Chris and I decided we wanted a winter wedding right from the start.
Last year there was the chance to have the ceremony on a very special day: 12.12.12.
Apparently there won’t be another triple date for 100 years and it’s considered a very lucky day on which to get married.
We knew lots of couples would want to wed then, so we booked The Orangery at Gaynes Park Barns as soon as possible.
We took inspiration from the time of year and had a winter wonderland theme; lots of white, candles and we even sang a Twelve Days of Christmas carol, which our guests loved.
I wore an organza gown with white pearl and crystal beading from Ellis Bridals (style 11260), which I bought from Bellissima boutique.
It had a lace-up corset back and I teamed it with a full-length, crystal encrusted two-tier veil and fur bolero.
Chris and his groomsmen wore matching grey tails from Couture Pour Homme in Hornchurch and my beautiful bridesmaids wore A-symmetric floor-length pink gowns from H&M, which were just £35 and looked amazing.
There were lots of surprise moments, such as a slide show with pictures of Chris and I from when we were born to present day accompanied by our favourite tunes made by my chief bridesmaid.
Another fun moment was when Chris and I stitched up the bestman by playing a recording of him singing Wannabe by the Spice Girls – we turned the tables!
When things drew to a close, all our family and friends were on their feet dancing to our favourite song You've got the Love by Florence + The Machine and Dizzee Rascal.
We jetted off to Florida the next day after opening a surprise gift from friends – personalised bride and groom Minnie and Mickey Mouse ears!
