Teacher weds

Kylee-Jade Morrell and Daniel James Todd tied the knot at The Bell Inn, Stilton on the 6th October, 2012

Daniel and I met at university in Lincoln, I asked him for a job at the bar he worked in. Funnily enough I got a job!

I wore a white lace dress from Cambridge Bridal Studio, Willingham. It had a sweetheart neckline, lace straps, beaded bodice, buttons down the back and,

my favourite part, it had a lace puddle train. Although it wasn’t a designer dress, I loved it!

Daniel, and his grooms men, wore grey single breasted 3-piece suits with mint green ties, lilac jewelled cufflinks and tie pins.

My bridesmaids wore mint green asymmetrical dresses that were tailor made from China. Although this was a risk but it definitely paid off!

The jewellery they wore was all handmade by me.

My flower girl, although she didn’t like to be called that, also wore a tailor made dress from China. My little brother who was our Usher wore a Ted baker suit from Debenhams.

I chose mint green and butterflies as the style for our wedding day.

My maid of honour made all my flowers and my butterfly bouquet.

Piece of Cake, Hampton made a three tiered chocolate and vanilla cake in lilac and mint green with spots and butterflies.

We arranged our wedding in just 8 weeks after getting engaged on 25th July 2012 in Venice.

We always knew we would get married quickly, but The Bell Inn had availability so we went for it.

This surprised our families and friends. Luckily I am a teacher and so for 5 of those 8 weeks I was able to sort out wedding arrangements.

We kept the ceremony low key with only immediate family and the wedding party there, this meant we could then invite all our friends and rather large extended family in the evening.

Would I change planning it so quickly? No, I would do it exactly the same again.

We had the most amazing day filled with family and friends and we boogied the night away.

We didn’t go on honeymoon straight away but we did have a ‘minimoon’ to a spa hotel in Hampshire and then in April we went for a ‘maximoon’ to the Riviera Maya in Mexico.

Our photographer was Daniela K Photography. Throughout the day she put us at ease and this is reflected in the natural style of our photography. She ensured she understood perfectly what we would like from our wedding photos through thorough consultations and good communication.
