New York, New York
Morven Whyte tied the knot with John Prytherch on the 23rd February, 2013.
John and I met at a friend’s wedding where John was an usher and I was a bridesmaid!
We decided to get married at the elegant 16th century country house Madingley Hall, Cambridge which is set in seven acres of spectacular gardens and grounds designed by 'Capability' Brown.I wore a traditional ivory wedding gown called Triana which is by White One by Pronovias.
It had a lace bodice and long train which was also covered in lace detail.
In my hair I wore a mid length veil with a hint of sparkle.
John wore a traditional morning suit in charcoal grey with an ivory cravat and waistcoat.
The groomsmen wore charcoal grey morning suits by Moss Bros with an olive green cravat and ivory waistcoat.
This complemented my bridesmaids who wore one shoulder, knee length dresses by Alexia Designs in olive green.
The theme for my wedding was 'antique classic' so I used lots of lace with the classic colours of ivory, olive green and antique embellishments as the main elements.
My cake really was amazing and was made by Jean Barker of ‘Amazing Cakes By Jean’.
John and I still laugh about the unexpected appearance of my garter as I was about to start my vows!
It was a little on the big side and had wriggled its way down my leg as I walked down the aisle, John promptly picked it up and snuck it in his pocket.
All of which the photographer candidly caught on camera but few other people noticed.
To complete our day we had a ceilidh bands (Maggogs) and then a disco afterwards which saw us through to the early hours of the morning finishing with Frank Sinatra’s classic New York, New York as an homage to where John proposed.
We had the most wonderful honeymoon filled with excitement as we went on a road trip for 3 weeks around California.
Photographer: Our wedding photographer was David Boughey of David Boughey Photographic.
David made us feel very relaxed and caught the essence of our special day in a brilliant way.
