Delicious dishes perfect for a Summer wedding 

If you want to serve mouth-wateringly good food but aren’t sure about a traditional wedding breakfast, a solution could be a barbecue. Forget blackened sausages and chicken, we’re talking gourmet dishes cooked by professionals that will have your guests queuing up for seconds.

The perfect food to serve on a summer’s day, the ease of outside grilling means guests can watch (and smell) the delicious food being prepared and enjoy the laid-back vibe.

Great grill ideas

Fish cooks really well on a barbecue and tastes divine, particularly marinated salmon steaks or monkfish cut into chunks and threaded on a kebab stick with red peppers.

If you want to go upmarket, lobster tails, lightly grilled and served with fresh asparagus tips is as good as it gets. For meat eaters, steak, pork and vegetable skewers and honey-glazed chicken are finger-licking good, while for vegetarians (check with the chef that there will be two grills) tofu, halloumi cheese and Quorn’s pepper steaks all taste great.

The bridal couple of one of the best weddings the Wedding Planner went to last year had hired a food stall they discovered at Glastonbury Festival to cook up huge dishes of paella, which were devoured by the 120 hungry guests.

Other fun food suggestions for outside dining include aubergine and peppers filled with tasty rice, delicious fluffy baked potatoes cooked in a fire pit and, to really wow your guests, a whole hog roast.
