Game for it
The current craze sweeping summer weddings is for outsized games.
If the grounds of your venue are big enough, why not hire some fun pieces, such as a plastic chess set, drafts or Jenga? Other ideas to keep your guests occupied include an electric rodeo ride surrounded by inflatables to cushion the (inevitable) falls, bouncy castles – one for kids, one for adults – and, if you’ve got the budget, fair ground rides, such as a carousel or dodgems.
If you’re making a whole weekend of it, ask your venue what activities they have on offer for guests and think about incorporating these into the entertainment plans.
For example, if you’re hiring a big country house hotel, they often offer activities such as clay pigeon shooting, petanque or croquet to guests and there’s no reason why you can’t incorporate these into your wedding weekend too.
