Zoe & Craig
Zoe and Craig held their ceremony and reception at the exclusive country house, Notley Abbey on the 30th July 2015
Even before we looked at venues we had a very good idea of what we wanted.
From the moment we pulled onto the tree lined driveway of Notley Abbey I felt we were somewhere special; it had the perfect balance of modern and historical features surrounded by private grounds.
By using lanterns, candles, fairy lights and confetti we achieved the softer elegant, classic feel that we wanted for our wedding look.
To add a personal touch we included photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days displayed in white frames on tables in the reception rooms.
Everyone enjoyed one very simple decoration which was black and white photos of Craig and I over the last 10 years attached to a lace ribbon tied around a large oak tree in the centre of the cloisters garden.
Guests enjoyed laughing at how much we had changed over the years!
We had a harpist for the drinks reception where the canapes of mini cones of fish and chips were enjoyed with four different flavours of ice cream with sprinkles and sauce.
Our saxophonist who played for the cocktail hour then joined our DJ to play club and Motown classics as day turned to night.
A special surprise was when my auntie gave me the six pence that my grandad had given to her on her wedding day.
Craig and I picked Binky Nixon to shoot our wedding as we wanted natural unobtrusive style photos.
One of my favourite photos is where she asked me if I could run in my dress and it resulted in some beautiful Cinderella style photos.
Binky captured a true sense of the romantic atmosphere and the emotions spill from every photograph, with pride, love and happiness.
Zoe wore a customised dress by Ronald Joyce purchased from Karen Forte Bridalwear.
Whilst Craig wore a M&S suit with waistcoat by Debenhams.
