Parisienne proposal

Rachel and James Booker married in an outdoor ceremony at The Old Hall, Ely on the 20th April 2013

For Rachel's 30th birthday James took her to Paris. On arriving James was eager to see the night view from the Arc De Triomphe.

Whilst Rachel took in the views she heard cries of "bravo" when she turned to see what the fuss was about she discovered James on one knee holding an engagement ring.

Rachel decided that if he was on one knee then she couldn't leave him so got on her knees too!

When she said 'Yes' everyone cheered and clapped.

Rachel wore a stunning lace Justine Alexander gown whilst James wore a bespoke black suit from Hackett.

Rachel had four bridesmaids her sister, twin sister, best friend and niece, all of whom wore matching purple dresses.

The couple wanted a comfortable, relaxed and fun day without lots of waiting around.

The sun shone which was a pleasant surprise especially as it had snowed a few days before and the couple had their ceremony in the Garden Pavilion.

'We had pianist, Matt Carter, playing during the entire day - a great mix of songs,' recalls Rachel.

Being snowboarders the cake was a lovely surprise from Rachel's twin sister with sugar models of the couple on snowboards.

Another hit was the vodka luge in the shape of a mountain.

During the evening 'The High Rollers' played and ensured lots of dancing and high spirits.

The couple went to Val D'isere to snowboard and later in the year enjoyed a Med cruise.

'Andy Fountain was our photographer along with his assistant Lewis. Both were very accommodating and blended into the wedding.' said Rachel. 'Andy is a true professional and we loved that his work was different and not the run of the mill wedding photography you usually see.'
