Rachel & Luke Jackson

Rachel and Luke Jackson held their ceremony and reception at Notley Tythe Barn, Long Crendon, on the 22nd August 2014

“We wanted the style to be in keeping with the barn so we used the beams as a starting point and then added lots of colour and bunting. It was shabby chic meets village fete!” explained Rachel.

“The cake table looked like a cake stall, with lots of different sizes and flavours of cakes on different height cake stands and we draped bunting over the front of the table.”

We wanted our colours, bright pink and bright blue, to stand out so we included them in everything – the chair covers, sashes, cake ribbon, my hair flowers, buttonholes, ties, Luke’s socks, Rachel’s shoes; the list goes on.

The couple also wanted a holiday feel as they love travel and family holidays. “We gave each child a bag full of fun things, including novelty sunglasses.

It was lovely to see them wearing them during the meal!” says Rachel.

“We had a Camper Van Photo Booth and all of the props were holiday related with parrots, huge sunglasses and Hawaiian costumes; everyone absolutely loved it”

Maria Barry, our photographer, was great. We asked that there not be too many posed shots; she took this on board and got some lovely natural photos.

She took some absolutely beautiful photos throughout the day and we really struggled to pick a selection for our album because we wanted them all!
