A candy inspired theme set the tone for Candee and James Hasell's wedding day on the 16th September 2013
The couple first met as children when playing in the park. James was playing football with friends and Candee was swinging on the crossbar, kicking the ball to stop it from going in the goal. 'It was quite annoying but she was really cute so I let her off!' recalls James.
Whilst on holiday in America James proposed in Candee’s favourite restaurant on St Pete beach. James went down on one knee and Candee thought he had fallen off his chair.
On her wedding day Candee wore an ivory beaded corset gown with plunge neckline and full layered skirt which was custom made in Spain by Demetrios and she finished the outfit off with stunning Christian Louboutin shoes.
James wore a navy three piece Hugo Boss suit with an ivory tie.
The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in strapless empire line floaty dresses and instead of traditional bouquets they wore elegant wrist corsages; the little flower girls looked delightful in white embroidered gowns.
Candee and James both surprised each other with wedding day gifts. Candee gave James a Breitling watch and James gave her a personalised number plate with her new married initials.
Candee and James decided to hold their ceremony and reception at Braxted Park, a beautiful Queen Anne house set in historic and unique parkland.
The reception theme was “candy shop” with lots of sweets and bright colours.
The couple started the theme when they sent out their wedding invites which were giant rainbow lollies!
As you entered the wedding reception you were met with an array of beautiful organza chair back ties in a myriad of bright colours to carry the theme.
Each table was named after the couple's favourite sweet, such as Cola Bottles, Flying Saucers etc. The favours for the guests were jars of bubble gums!
Mini buckets of flowers with a rainbow lolly and name tag made for unique name places settings; the table plan was 12 large jars full of the sweets relating to the table with names printed on the jar all held in a sweet shop style shelving unit.
Their highly imaginative and coloured cup cake tower was created by Candy Cakes, Covent Garden, London.
A string quartet played during the ceremony and the wedding breakfast whilst in the afternoon there were fun garden games for the children.
A DJ took over for the evening entertainment and kept the dance floor filled all night.
At the end of the evening the bride and groom spent their first night as a married couple enjoying a chilled glass of champagne in the Garden Cottage situated in the grounds of Braxted Park.
A wonderful honeymoon was spent seeing the sites and lazing on the beach in Mexico for 10 nights before the couple enjoyed the excitement of 4 nights in Las Vegas!
'Dan Casson from Studio1 was our wedding day photographer,' James told us. 'He and his team were fantastic.
They captured our day from start to finish with guests commenting throughout the day on how much fun he was'
