Blair & Thomas

Majestic Blenheim Palace was the only venue for Blair and Tom when they married on the 6th August 2016

“We fell in love with it at first sight. The grounds are breathtaking and the Orangery where we held our ceremony is light and airy – the perfect place,” explained Blair.

As the couple didn’t want to follow a theme they just kept with white, ivory and champagne gold to evoke a classic and elegant style.

“For our stationary, invites, table plan (pictured right) and name settings, all by Angels Creations, we chose a shimmering champagne colour with little diamantes.”

The delicious five tier iced cake by The Little Pop Bake Shop (pictured left) incorporated levels of traditional fruit cake, Limoncello (Tom’s favourite), chocolate (Blair’s favourite) and vanilla.

“I showed Kelly some photos and she designed the perfect cake for me.”

“We had little vodka bottles for favours which had a note saying ‘mix this vodka with your lemon sorbet and let’s start dancing the night away’- our dessert was lemon sorbet served in a wine glass,” explained Blair.

When it came to her dress, Blair chose a Berta Bridal designer gown.

The designer was showing her new collection that weekend in London and Blair received free tickets! “I got to meet Berta herself and had a photo taken with her – it almost felt like fate,” says Blair.

Flowers were one of the most important parts of their day. “I love flowers and our talented florist, T.J. Designer Weddings, took all the pictures and sketches I sent to her and made my vision a reality,” says Blair.

“She made chair sashes and added lovely little touches to make my wedding look truly beautiful.”

T.J went all out with a stunning ceremony floral arch and the grand table centrepieces.

To add a personal touch to their ceremony Blair had an aisle runner monogram with their names and wedding date but she didn’t stop there.

“We, also, had a memorial table of pictures, together with a poem and candles to remember the family we have lost and couldn’t be with us.”

Tom and his grooms men completed their chic look in blue three-piece suits with matching bow ties and wasitcoats from J.B Bespoke.

“Vic Alexander, owner, was extremely helpful and it was great to have all the fittings done at home.”

The guests were treated to professional singer and childhood friend, Charlotte Awbery, singing during the ceremony.

The Sole Bay Strings quartet played classical music outside in the garden as Magician, Nick Crown, mingled and amazed the guests who enjoyed drinks and canapes.

For the evening The White Keys kept the guests on the dance floor and the cocktail bus in the courtyard kept them refreshed.

“Where do I start when it comes to Dan Casson, our photographer?” asked Blair. “This guy’s energy and ideas are unreal.

I loved him the first time I met him and I loved all my wedding photography. In my opinion a good photographer is the key to any wedding.

Your photographs and your video are the memories you will get to see and keep.

The day goes by so quickly, it’s almost like a hazy dream, so to have amazing photos and video footage to look back on is so important.”

“Which brings me onto Kim and Steve, Simply Wedding Movies, who filmed our wedding,” reveals Blair,

"We hardly knew they were there and the mini-movie we received brought a tear to our eye.  It was beautifully put together, with stunning aerial views of the grounds at Blenheim palace captured by the drone they used.”
