Emma & Ashley

Tied the knot at The Tythe Barn, Bicester on Friday 18th August 2017

We originally meet at nursery age 3 years, then were friends in upper school but only became a couple in the summer before college nearly 13 years ago.

For our wedding theme The Tythe Barn has such a natural beauty that we decided to keep with its rustic, natural look and go for a calm inviting style with nothing too overdone and we feel it worked.

With amazing help from my Ashley’s mum we made pretty much everything ourselves from 80 metres of bunting and all the chair covers to the table decorations and home grown succulents and cactus favours.

My dad made a wooden post box and we hung Polaroid prints from a wooden pallet. It was a homemade wedding to say the least!

The Tythe Barn has a wonderful room called The Nook where my bridesmaids and I got ready together.

It has everything you could need and is a fabulously relaxing start to your preparations.

I wore a beautiful fit and flare gown called Hermione by Ronald Joyce which had a scalloped hem and organza train.

There really were so many memorable moments from walking hand in hand with my dad down the aisle under the beautiful flower archway, seeing my husband for the first time to singing and dancing the night away with all our friends and family.

The last song was ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis, our guests made a circle, my husband climbed on his best man’s shoulders as we sung our hearts out.

It still melts my heart thinking of that moment as we were surrounded by so many people we love!

Sharon Cooper, our photographer, was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. She was so kind and funny and made us feel as ease. She took stunning natural photos that we will cherish forever.
