Alice & Liam

Alice married Liam in a ceremony at St John the Baptist Church, Flitton and held their reception at De Vere Chicheley Hall, Newport Pagnell on the 23rd May 2014

‘We didn’t have a set theme for our wedding day, I just wanted it to feel romantic, relaxed and fun’, explained Alice.

‘I did include hints of vintage with mercury silver vases, tea light holders, and silver frames for the table plan. And, I wanted to add personal touches so I handmade the order of services, confetti cones, sparkler sleeves and match boxes.

We, also, had a table with framed photos of family members who were no longer with us.’

Alice wore a unique white one-shouldered tulle and lace dress by Enzoani.

‘It was made up of two parts so in the evening I could remove the lace to reveal a fitted strapless dress.

I loved surprising our guests (and my new husband!) with this – no one expected me to have two dresses.’

Liam and his groomsmen wore navy blue three-piece suits offset with pink ties and pocket squares and bright pink socks.

After the ceremony the couple arranged for the local pub to serve their guests Prosecco whilst the photos where being taken.

‘This worked really well and was a great way to start the celebrations off straight away.’ said Alice.

‘Later we found out that my parents had done exactly the same after their wedding.’

Alice’s dad designed and built a few personalised signs, with the help of artist friend Emily Manning which the couple have put up around their home as a reminder of their day.

‘One moment really stands out for us which was just before we were introduced for the Wedding Breakfast.

We stood on the mezzanine level looking down at all our favourite people, watching their reactions to their personal polaroid pictures which had a hand-written thank you note on the back!’

‘We chose Nicola Norton as our photographer because we love her photographic style and we felt we could trust her to take control on the day and ensure we got the photos we wanted.

We didn’t even notice Nicola was there and this made for really natural shots of us and our guests enjoying ourselves.’
